Ultra-high resolution partnership

 

ISE, Amsterdam, 30 January, 2007- On stand C70 Hall 2 Sony and HoloVis International will today launch the ApolloWall-Pro, the world’s highest resolution turn-key 2D and 3D visualisation system.

The ApolloWall-Pro uses the market leading Sony SRX-S105 and SRX-S110 projectors: the world’s only 4K projector, to visualise images in true 1:1 scale with photo-realistic resolution.

Sony and HoloVis will be showcasing the system’s capability at this year’s ISE trade show by building a full scale, stereo immersive 3D system in which users, wearing specially designed glasses, will be able to literally step into the high resolution image. Using two Sony 4K projectors of the art software, the system can be configured to create fully immersive 3-D imagery.

Sony and HoloVis are already working closely with a several major car manufacturers to implement this system into their design and review process.

Speaking at the launch, Damien Weissenburger, General Manager, Displays said, “We are delighted to be partnering HoloVis in the development of the ApolloWall-Pro. We have been developing our 4k projectors for several years and it is incredibly exciting to see them being used in such an innovative way. We are confident that industrial manufactures and designers coming to ISE will be impressed by the ApolloWall-Pro’s performance.”

As well providing a 3D image the system can be used to produce an ultra-high resolution 2D screen display. The benefits of this system are clear: the resolution is such that pixels, even at this scale, are virtually invisible to the naked eye. Furthermore, installation and maintenance is reduced as there is no need for multiple projector blended systems commonly used in the past to create displays of this size and resolution.

Commenting on the partnership with Sony, Stuart Hetherington, Managing Director of HoloVis International said, “What attracted us so strongly to Sony was not only that they are the only producers of 4K resolution projectors but also their commitment to working with us to produce a fully integrated system, rather than just a product.“
