A global experience in networked HD production solutions

With sales of more than 21,000 units, Sony XDCAM is central to delivering integrated networked production workflow. Recent customer sales successes, like Al Jazeera and TV Canarias, highlight how news producers and broadcasters alike are enjoying the workflow benefits and reliability of XDCAM and for customers like Finland’s Filmworks, which produces the World Rally Championships, the versatility of XDCAM lends itself to outside broadcast environments, where robust and efficient production is critical.

At the heart of these integrated systems, such as SONAPS, are mature, fast, practical and cost-effective technologies, like MPEG Long GOP, which is supported in all areas of production from planning and ingest to editing, play-out and archive.

“We are bringing new networked production possibilities to hundreds of broadcasters throughout the world,” said Daryl Blair, Senior Manager for Content Creation at Sony Professional Solutions Europe. “With our XDCAM family of tapeless acquisition products, we have successfully developed 35 XDCAM partnerships in four years which all support MPEG Long GOP and we are committed to expanding the range’s capabilities even further to deliver real workflow benefits.”
