Google play store has stopped working!

Hi, I have recently purchased my Sony S tablet.  I absolutey love it.  The google play store was working fine before I had updated the software.  Once that was done then the store has stopped working for no reason.  Can you help me please.  I can't install some apps that I have purchased. When I go on google play on my laptop it works fine, but on my tablet it doesn't work. HELP!
