I bought this to replace a previous Sony TV as I wanted to use bluetooth headphones. The picture quality is great but the operating system is terrible. Very slow to change channels, takes anything up to 30seconds or more, sometimes does not sync video with sound. Wish I had not bought it and could not recommend this as a useable TV.

Good TV but.......

First of all I must explain I'm a media centric autistic gentleman, movies, TV shows, music, games and the written word calm me when the world becomes too much. I paid for and have had this TV around 18 months now, the picture and sound are wonderful. However there are a few problems with the core programming of this particular unit, for instance you can not remove apps that are on the TV when booted up for the 1st time. One of these is YouTube and this app requires regular updates, when this happens the unit becomes glitchy and requires a reboot. No internet antivirus is provided as a standard feature which I find very disturbing on an internet enabled telly, but apps I have downloaded such as steam link that work incredibly well and pose almost zero problem. Would recommend this product but would also recommend that Sony offer it's customers the choice of what services/apps to load onto their products.

I made an investment in a larger tv and expected amazing. Overall it is very good but I’ve had issues since the beginning with WiFi. I have lived in 2 places, one with Ethernet connection (I bought a brand new cable) and one over WiFi. I’ve had the same problem with both. The sound is very good! I have not needed to buy a sound bar. My main disappointment is the blacks are not great. On dark images some goes to a foggy/brown and definition is poor. This spoils some films especially. If I had to buy again, I’d probably go for something else.

I bought this tv 24/08/24 and to be honest i am suprised sony put it on the market, i have always since 1970's loved sony products, This tv looks good but as for the quality of the picture its rubbish its the worst sony tv i have owned the picture is fine on HD but other channels its out of focus and fuzzy, the sound is ok but when you connect headphones you have to keep turning the volume up from 11 to 51 or so to hear properly then at times when you switch the tv on you have to mess about by turning the volume up again, How annoying there is no feature on the tv so you can adjust at all, the tv i have is a KDL-46ex723 and its faultless in fact i have 3 of them and they are better than all this itech crap now days.

I echo all the complaints in the critical reviews here. My Sony KD-43X73K give the lie to the epithet ‘smart’. It is slow to respond, switches itself off a second after being switched on, refuses to acknowledge the presence of my DVD player and exhibits many other infuriating traits and deficiencies. User-friendly it is not. The latest woe, though, has me seriously considering dumping this year-old TV for a different brand. The reason is its refusal to accept the Appletv app. I have tried every avenue and the operations system simply won’t allow it. This is purely protective spitefulness and close to a form of censorship. Get your act together Sony!

Worst TV I have ever owned!

I’ve owned this TV for just over a year and it is by far the worst TV I have ever owned. It is very slow to respond and it often becomes unresponsive, which requires a reboot.The picture quality is poor at best and the ownership of such a rubbish product has been frustrating. Sony could only suggest updating the software, to the latest version, which I had already tried (didn’t make it any better). I will never buy a Sony TV again, it’s not worth the risk.

Had Sony TVs for over 25 years and loved every one, however this TV has broken me. Constantly freezing, loading data, slow to respond, remote super sensitive. I have tried everything from factory reset, updates. Various other settings yet it’s complete trash. I will never buy a Sony TV again. Seams to be the same on all forums

Bought the TV a few weeks back. Great picture for a LCD Display. Since I use Apple TV… no comments on the software. But the TV speaker could have been better. If you use an external soundbar, then TV speakers also do not matter. Lastly, the thickness of the TV is surprisingly too much. The TV is 4 cm more than our last 48inch TV. But overall good picture quality for the price.

It functions well, with more than enough features, the price was affordable, and the quality was in line with Sony's good reputation BUT: ► No display appeared on the TV screen after I plugged a powered Manhattan FreeSat SX box into the correct HDMI socket. I have not been able to find an app or a help file, after hours of attempts. ► The rear of the TV has an extremely cramped space for attaching inputs such as HDMI and satellite dish cables, which could result in damage to the TV itself

Freezes constantly. Apps don’t work properly - loads and then reverts back to home page. Constantly buffering and very slow. Have to pull it out at the wall to reset but this is ludicrous (& then there’s a long wait for apps to work) 10 months old and £500 down - unbelievably frustrating

per la prima volta ho acquistato un TV Sony perchè volevo una qualità superiore per video e audio. Sono molto soddisfato della parte video, ma non dell'audio: non si riesce a regolare in modo da sentire in modo decente. Suono ovattato o rimbombante. Questo non me lo aspettavo da Sony. Per quanto riguarda la funzionalità è una TV Android, ...mah .. certe volte esce dalle applicazioni e l'help online non è fatto bene: molte volte le azioni di fare per impostare qualcosa sono relative ad un'altro TV e quindi non si trova la voce da modificare. Nel complesso sono abbastanza soddisfatto, ma niente di eccezionale. Sicuramente la cosa più deludente è l'audio e non mi sembra corretto dover per forza comperare una soundbar.

Broke after 9 months

Broke after 9 months. Needed a repair. Repair didn't work so took back for refund. I now bought this years model of the bravia that works brilliant. Several features that never worked on my old one work on the new one so hoping it was just a one off dodgy unit

Bought this back in Nov 2022. Really liked the picture quality instead of a Panasonic. It appears to have intermittent faults. Sometimes it wants to retune to bbc Leicester. Sometimes the TV guide takes ages to work. One time we had blue screen, no pic & sound only but it worked fine off the set top box. Then about 3 wks ago we had nothing. Got in touch with Currys a few days later & asked to check tv while assistant on phone. It started to work again!!! Very annoying. My previous Panasonic set lasted nearly 20yrs

Dit toestel is een maand geleden gekocht en bevalt goed qua bediening beeld en geluid. De beste beeldkwaliteit is als je recht voor de TV zit. Vanuit zijwaartse hoek moet de linkerhoek van de TV ca. 51 cm van de muur af worden geplaatst t.o.v. de rechterhoek voor een goede contrast/kleur kwaliteit

I bought this TV last Friday. I Naively thought How complicated could setting up a new TV get? Well Very complicated as it turns out. 2 days later with absolutely no progress progress being able to do the basics my 7 year old TV can do with out breaking sweat it's going back. It wont browse my LAN to let me play movies from I have stored on my desktop. Which was a simple affair on my old Sony. I am unable to browse TV listings and select a program to record. I Just get "Program is unavailable". No Sh it sherlock. maybe thats why Im trying to set a timer to record/remind me about it in the first place? I have a big problem about why I need to connect a TV to the internet. I dont stream anything except by using a firestick. So don't need it to always be online. I refuse to be at the mercy of "Apps" that will sooner or later be out of date and fail to work. And also present a security risk to my home network. Sony support so far has been incredibly useless. No reply in 4 days. Awful experience. I don't wish to repeat.

Der Händler hat den Sony-Kundendienst angerufen mit der Bitte um Problemlösung aber keine Reaktion. Jetzt soll ich den Fernseher zum Händler transportieren, damit der das Problem bestätigen kann. Ich werde versuchen den Sony gegen eine andere Marke zu tauschen.

Eigenlijk was er nauwelijks iets in te stellen. Ik heb KPN dus nog steeds de bijbehorende afstandsbediening nodig die probleemloos schakelt met die van Sony Alle apps zijn al aanwezig. Overschakelen van de ene app naar de andere gaat probleemloos. Beeld en geluid is prima. Prijs kwaliteit is uitstekend.

Problemi a ricevere canali nelle frequenze 44 e 48

Notevoli problemi di ricezione canali nelle frequenze 44 e 48 nonostante abbia dall'antenna un segnale MER abbastanza buono e abbia sostituito la centralina con una nuova da 730 euro. Fatto controllare al centro di assistenza Sony di Modena e in quel luogo loro hanno un segnale Mer superiore, solo in quel caso nelle citate frequenze i canali si vedono. Nel negozio dove ho acquistato dicono che solo per problemi di frequenze non cambiano il televisore. Ed il televisore ancora in garanzia, non è ancora trascorso 1 anno dall'acquisto. La zona dove abito è molto servita da segnali televisivi, sono in pianura nella citta di Carpi. La casa è di 3 piani perciò l'antenna per giunta è alta 20 metri dal suolo stradale. Quindi è il televisore che ha lacune nella ricezione di alcune frequenze.!!!

Good-looking TV but unfortunately there was a fault (some apps only worked if you turned the TV off and then on again; programme information system so slow you pressed the keys twice because nothing had happened, so then it jumped 2 lines etc). So I returned it.

Cannot record without an extra box!!

As 2 over 75 folks we wanted a new TV. We saw 2 that we liked ( in Curry's) only to find they were no longer available!! On seeing this one (smaller) I asked about recording programs - yes can do that. I was not told that I could only record a program I was watching!!! If I was watching it, why would I want to record it? It was our installer ( from Curry's) that gave us this news!! We have to save up now for an extra box and another installation as there do not seem to be any booklets supplied with TVs any more. I cannot look everything up on line- I want a booklet supplied with the TV. as an option please.

Good low spec TV

Needed a secondary TV for streaming services and PS5 and saw this 4K set with HDR*. This set has good picture quality and reasonable sound and works well on terrestrial TV with a good aerial signal. Apps all work as expected but no Apple TV+. Generally I would say this is a good "low spec" TV. Some points to be aware of - HDR is not Dolby Vision, just HDR10 which is fine and works "okay" on PS5. No Bravia sync so Sony sound bars and PS5 don't turn off when I turn off the TV. No Apple TV+ or Airplay but Chromecast is included. Now the negative - the processor in this set is not the X1 (which is already showing its age) so the interface can be sluggish and unresponsive at times. The set uses the older Android TV OS (but with the newer interface that mimics Google TV) which has now been replaced by full blown Google TV on the latest 2023 sets. You can't uninstall a lot of the default apps and when you disable them and / or remove them from the Home Screen after an update they all reappear and freeze up the set while it populates their images. Overall it's not a bad set but don't be expecting too much out of it. If you use it simply as a "screen" for say a PS5 then its a reasonably good quality screen but if you want to use it specifically for the built in apps then you may become frustrated by the slow processor over time. It's probably a good "old person" TV or for a young kid for their game consoles. I'm happy with it but I knew what I was buying into when I bought it.

The unit is a little thicker than I expected. It is an android TV, so great for streaming, but you don't get the level of integration into Google services as you do with a Google TV.

instant record, is good but setting series or multi weekly recording is extremely difficult even trying to follow online instructions from Sony. There seems to be no way of reordering or re siting the programmes in the guide or reducing the number of programmes therein, which means scrolling through several hundred programmes to select the one required. the support feet are rather too close together, which means a larger base unit is required or alternative stand arrangement purchased. Support on these matters would be appreciated.

And while we are replacing the TV under our warranty, we would like to highlight that the replacement TVs comes directly from our factories which are located outside of the UK.
And due to Brexit there has been some delays in customs and logistics to get the TVs in the UK for delivery.

In general its a good second tv,TV that is not main, mostly watched and use in house hold, my TV after I turned shows shadow cloud's on black screen,they disappear and only appear in Very dark scenes, mirroring headache, it's only work with Sony mobile,I tried Samsung mobile and tablet, nothing in general its good TV exactly good nothing more or less
