I've been using the HT-G700 with my laser 4K projector for a couple of weeks. I've tried it with movies, TV shows, live TV, sports, Spotify, and PS4 Pro. Movies: detailed sound but with very poor low-frequency bass; dialogues get lost with noisy sequences. Overall, satisfying 3.1 audio but with a huge disappointment Dolby Atmos experience. TV shows: not too bad. However, you should use your TV speakers if you care more about clear dialogue. Music: don't use it. PlayStation: Very good sounds and effects. Dialogues are still an issue with noisy backgrounds. It's the right item if you want a decent 3.1 audio system. Totally to avoid if you're looking for an ATMOS sound experience.

The subwoofer is designed for playback of bass or low frequency sound. If the input sources contain very little bass sound components (i.e., a TV broadcast), the sound from the subwoofer may be difficult to hear. You can follow the steps at the bottom of page no 42: https://cutt.ly/SexMrweb

Pessimo prodotto e pessima qualità costruttiva

Qualità del prodotto realmente bassa a fronte di una spesa di 300€. Dopo 6 mesi dall'uscita della garanzia il subwoofer non si connette più. Andato nel centro assistenza ufficiale Sony in zona, mi chiedono la bella cifra di 250€ per riparare il subwoofer in quanto è andata la piastra madre! Contatto anche l'assistenza Sony, ma loro non possono fare assolutamente nulla! Mai più Sony!

Très rapidement j'ai commencé par avoir des coupures de son inopinées qui sont devenues de plus en plus fréquentes, jusqu'à plusieurs dizaines sur la durée d'un film. Après avoir fait une mise à jour le problème semble résolu, espérons que ça dure. Wait and see. Par contre, si la spacialisation est bien moins spectaculaire que celle annoncée (je sors d'un home cinema Pionneer) le qualité du son est globalement plutôt bonne.

Having received a reply from Sony, I have now updated the firmware and am now using my new HDMI cable and the difference is fantastic, I no longer turn off the soundbar to use TV speakers, only watched a couple of films and started a few TV Series but I can now hear dialogue great and am very happy with my purchase. I would however suggest that with this being Bluetooth enabled re the subwoofer, it is a shame the soundbar cannot update itself in the same way the TV does but I suppose that this is at the cheaper end of the market and you get what you pay for

Not the best would look for a upgrade

This would not be my 1st choice, I have tried all different settings and can barely hear what people are saying during films or TV dramas etc. background noise or music or sound effects drowned out any dialogue. Music is quite good and sound effects on films are good but at the expense of dialogue. Also for some inexplicable reason, it is temperamental. It does not always work, over Christmas, it would not work at all and I could not find any fault, so I ordered a new HDMI cable. Still, before it arrived on the day after Boxing Day it started working again, I have no idea why, I never touched it at all but because I enjoyed the TV over Christmas without the sound bar I decided to unplug it and use the superior TV sound system. Which is a Sony Bravia I have been disappointed with this because I use a lot of Sony products and they are usually excellent.

Letting you know that the content itself being watched has the most impact on how the dialogue is mixed with the other audio elements, you can always boost it by pressing the Voice button on your remote control.
We also recommend that you always use a certified ultra-high speed HDMI 2.1 cable for best performance.
If you ever experienced the same issue again, we recommend that you try a different cable, and check the following steps:
- Unplug the system from the mains while disconnecting everything from it for at least 2 minutes.

Couldnt hear the speech

I purchased this about 8 weeks ago and the sound quality on speechas very poor couldnt here people talking on films as the background music was so loud in the end I sold it and bought a Sony s2000 much better system

Ero entrato all'interno di un punto vendita Euronics per acquistare una soundbar della Samsung, con un budget di 200/250€. Il commesso molto cordiale, mi accende la Samsung e mi fa ascoltare, ottimo il suono, buoni i bassi, ed buona potenza. Poi mi invita a provare questa Sony HT-G700 che era in offerta a 290€. Nettamente migliore, il suono ti avvolge completamente, i bassi sono belli potenti, alla fine, ho optato per questa Sony, anche se con un costo maggiore, sicuramente meglio della Samsung

Barre de son avec caisson de basses.Les menus sont sommaires , la télécommande très peu pratique. Les basses sont de bonne qualité et on peut les augmenter ou les diminuer.Chose impossible a faire avec les aiguës ! pourquoi ? J'aurais espéré mieux venant de la marque Sony.

Gut verarbeitete Soundbar in schlichtem Design. Der Ton ist dank des Subs ausgewogen und hat eine gute Raumklangwirkung. Die Sprachverständlichkeit ist leider nicht ganz optimal, trotz des Stimmverstärkers. Sicher hängt es auch am Stream oder an der Aufnahme, jedoch war die Verständlichkeit bei meinem Sorround System besser. Bei der Konnektivität läuft es leider auch nicht ganz rund. Verbunden ist die Bar mit einem brandneuen HDMI Kabel an einen neuen XR65X90L. Eingänge sind korrekt… Beim Start des TVs benötigt die Soundbar oft lang bis sie sich aktiviert und teilweise schalten die TV Lautsprecher vorher ein bis die Soundbar sich zuschaltet. Zu Beginn gab es auch häufige Disconnects wodurch die Bar getrennt wurde und sie manuell zugeschaltet werden musste. Ich hoffe die Konnektivität wird diesbezüglich vebessert, möglicherweise liegt es auch am TV, da es aber ebenfalls Sony ist, lass ich dies in die Bewertung einfließen. Fazit: Guter Ton für überschaubares Budget mit Verbesserungspotential, damit es eine Runde Sache wir. Empfehlen würde ich sie dennoch.

Bought this a few weeks ago, very easy to set up and use, one HDMI cable (not supplied) to the e-ARC port on the TV and it's ready to go. I mostly just leave it on the auto sound with the voice enhancer on and it sounds pretty good. Bass isn't as good as a separates system, but more than adequate for a small flat, also has a night mode so as to not annoy the neighbours. Surround effect is a bit hit and miss, sometimes you notice it and other times less so, but it supports all the major formats, Atmos and DTS-X. Only things it lacks is an on screen display (have to use the display on the soundbar but once its set you don't need to go in the menu much).

I've been using it for more than half a year. Overall, the surround and sound effect is very good, with one minus, the voice is not really audible in films. Even with the voice function switched on, there is not much change. All in all a good system, with good sound reproduction.

Sony è un marchio che non chiede descrizione, è vero la qualità si paga ma credetemi vale la pena rispetto a tanti prodotti il suono qualità è ottimo ed il tasto immersive è qualcosa di eccezionale, soundbar bar consigliatissima.

Assez déçue par le manque d' immersivisté... la télévision rend presque mieux sans la barre de son ! Notamment pour les dialogues qui sont difficilement compréhensibles. J'ai été conseillée en magasin donc je n'ai pas pris le temps de regarder les avis en ligne mais sinon je pense que je ne l'aurais pas achetée.

Very good sound for the money.

This was to replace a Panasonic home cinema set, of which the sub woofer had blown. I do miss the back speakers I had , however the sound from this sound bar is very rich, clear and powerful enough for our fairly large room. As a previous reviewer said, it takes longer to unpack than to set up. Looks really good and fits in well. My only negative comments would be that the mains leads could really do with being longer and the sub woofer is very big.

We're sorry to learn that you're getting no sound when connecting this sound bar to your TV via HDMI.
We recommend following our setup guide as it's showing here: https://cutt.ly/54MCMB7.
And make sure to change the audio output on your TV from TV speakers to external device.
If it's still the same, make sure that the sound bar is running the latest firmware update: https://cutt.ly/o4MVeyE.
And check the steps on page 42: https://cutt.ly/J4MVIqB.

c'est une barre de son de qualité mais difficile à trouver un son dans mes attentes, je pense que cela est dû à ma télévision qui n'est pas récente, pas vieille non plus, mais qui ne permet pas d'optimiser le son proposé par la barre.

This is an excellent product and the quality of sound is impressive for a compact system. I have been a Sony enthusiast for many years and currently have, and have owned, many Sony electrical products (phones, TV's, camera, laptop, radios, stereo systems, cassette players etc). But I am very disappointed to find that neither this Sony HT-G700 soundbar, or my Sony Bravia Television KD-43XG8096, are fitted with stereo audio-only input ports. I now have a problem, because I also use a Sony PS-LX300USB turntable to play my personal collection of vinyl records. Although responsive and after several emails, the Sony support service has not offered any helpful suggestions.

Twee weken terug gekocht, stekkers er in en verbonden met Blue Tooth, alles werkt prima en is tevens te bedienen met de Ziggo afstandsbediening. Geluid overtreft alles, echt prima, zijn dan ook zeer tevreden.
